Sting, Predators, Bulls, Warriors, Invaders Win

All 10 teams were in action this week, as the playoffs just got a whole lot more interesting!

Sting 10, Brawlers 8

In a clean game, the Sting came out on top.  Shortly before halftime Battle Creek started the scoring with a Safety via Blocked Punt, followed by a Touchdown on the ensuing drive with the 2-point conversion - which would prove to be the difference.  Late in the 3rd Quarter, the Brawlers added their own touchdown & 2-point conversion to pull within two.  A Brawler field goal was stopped by the Sting with just 2:24 left in the game, preserving the Victory for Battle Creek.

Predators 19, Rough Riders 14

The Predators add a BIG win to clinch playoff birth, and potentially setup a rematch in the first round of the playoffs.  River City jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after the 1st Quarter, but Chippewa Valley answered back with two Field Goals and a touchdown before the half to head to the break with a 13-7 lead.  Midway through the 3rd Quarter the Predators added another Field Goal to go up 16-7.  After a Rough Rider touchdown made it 16-14, the Predators added their 4th FG of the game to make the Final Score 19-14.

Bulls 54, Force 7

With the Predator win, the Force needed a win to stay in the playoff race.  However, the Bulls also needed a win to takeover the #1 seed from the Rough Riders.  This game was all Northland, as they jumped out to a 14-0 lead by the end of the 1st Quarter and a 41-0 lead by halftime.  The Bulls added a few more scores in the 3rd, to go up 54-0 heading into the 4th.  Fox Valley got their lone score of the day in the 4th to avoid the shutout, but they couldn't avoid missing playoff birth.

Warriors 43, Thunderhawks 12

In a cross-divisional game, the West completed their 4-game sweep of the East as the Warriors were too much for the Thunderhawks.  Hudson kept the game close through the 1st Quarter, trailing just 14-6.  The 2nd Quarter was an Explosion of Scoring for the Warriors, as they outscored the Thunderhawks 29-6.  With the lopsided matchup - in a non Divisional Game - the contest was called at halftime with the win for Minneapolis.

Invaders 14, Pioneers 0

"The Game of the Week" - as dubbed by Semi Pro Elite - certainly lived up to the hype.  Both teams entered the matchup at (5-1), with the Invaders loss coming in St. Paul to the tune of 47-28.  Fargo didn't want history to repeat itself, as the Defense was able to post a Shutout.  The 0-0 tie was finally broken shortly before halftime as the Invaders rushed for a touchdown with 25 seconds left in 2nd Quarter.  Fargo's defense bent, but didn't break...as the Pioneers got down to the Invader 4 yard-line when Fargo came away with the strip and 96 yard return for Touchdown to seal the game with 5:58 left in the contest.  The Invaders turned away the Pioneer offense with a 3 & out, followed by the offense driving down the field to ice the game.
