Pioneers, Invaders Win Big

Fargo Invaders 49 - Western Dakota War Eagles 0 

Fargo opened the season hosting first year Western Dakota War Eagles of the MPFL.  The War Eagles - based in Rapid City, SD - came in flocks on the 8-hour journey, with the roster that came to Fargo they will be contenders by the end of the season; however, in their first game in franchise history they were out-matched.  Reining NEFL Offensive MVP Ja'Vonte Johnson threw for 5 TD's to 5 different receivers, Brandon Jones ran for a score, Lezan Tahir added 2 field goals, and the punt team picked up a safety.

St Paul Pioneers 34 - Northern Light Cowboys 6 

St Paul opened with a more difficult opponent at Carson Park in Eau Claire, the Northern Light Cowboys - formerly Stanley Cowboys - of the CAFL.  Northern Light is coming off an NLFL League Championship, going undefeated in league play; however, since the start of 2018 their only 3 losses are to NEFL teams.  The Pioneers jumped out 14-0 after the first & added 6 more before the half.  Northern Light got on the board in the 3rd yet were outscored 6-7 in the frame, and the Pioneers capped off the night with another TD ending 34-6.
