Tough Games vs Reigning Champions

3 of the 4 NEFL teams traveled to 2018 League Champions, which did not fair well for those squads.

Fargo Invaders 47 - Minnesota Mud Dawgs 0

Fargo hosted CAFL Powerhouse Minnesota Mud Dawgs, as the Invaders were coming off a 49-0 win over the Western Dakota War Eagles.  Fargo jumped out early with a Defensive 3 & out followed by a 48-yard TD on the first offensive play.  Again after a 3 & out by the defense Fargo's offense put together a TD Drive for an early 14-0 lead.  By halftime the Invaders built a 33-0 lead, and capped off the night 47-0.  Reigning NEFL Offensive MVP Johnson threw for 7 TD's.

Sioux City Stampede 9 - Lincoln Way Patriots 21

Sioux City stampeded 9.5 hours to Chicago to face reigning MSFL Champion, Lincoln Way Patriots.  It was a defensive slugfest for the first two quarters, as the Patriots were able to score a TD late in the first half for a 7-0 score at the break.  Sioux City would score next with a FG in the 3rd to cut the deficit to 3-7, but after a couple Lincoln Way scores a late TD was too little for the Stampede to overcome; falling 9-21.

St Paul Pioneers 33 - Kansas City Bulldogs 38

St Paul traveled to reigning MFA Champion, Kansas City Bulldogs for a game that was back-and-forth all night.  After a 14-14 first quarter, things slowed down a bit in the 2nd, as the only points were a Pioneer FG as time expired giving St Paul a 17-14 halftime lead.  It was an Offensive 3rd quarter again, but two missed XP's for the Bulldogs found them trailing 31-26.  Kansas City would capitalize on turnovers in the 4th, building a 38-31 lead.  With under a 10 seconds to play, the Bulldogs would take a safety from their punter making the final score 38-33.
