The Fox Valley Force fresh off the rout of the Menomonie Thunderhawks, were looking to continue their winning ways as they traveled to Winona, MN to take on the River City Rough Riders.
Fox Valley knew going into the game they would be in for a physical game and a fight. They were right.
The Rough Riders jumped out to 21-3 lead mid way through the 2nd quarter and things looked bleak for the undermanned Force. Fox Valley was missing numerous players for various reasons which left them thin across the board. Early on the Force looked to be beaten, but then QB TJ Arndt caught fire, and the return of KR and Special Teams player of the Year #23 Al Clarke sparked the Force to pull within 4 just before the half, 21-17!
In the 3rd Quarter the Force kept the pedal to the floor and took the lead 31-28. But the lack of depth caught up with the Force. Fox Valley could only manage two more touchdowns and the defense wasn't able to hold on to secure the victory, Fox Valley fell to the Rough Riders 49-37.
Next week will be another physical game against Fox Valley's rival in the NEFL, the Chippewa Valley Predators. Game is set for Saturday May 16th. 6pm Kickoff at Carson Park in Eau Claire.
