10 Teams Were in Action Saturday

The NEFL had a full slate of games, with 4 league games & 2 against the Midwest Football Alliance.  All-in-All it was an exciting Saturday.

With the 2018 NEFL schedule, each team only plays a team once which adds importance to Every Game.  Here's how May 12th played out:

Northland, defending NEFL East Champions, opened the game with two Field Goals for a 6-0 lead after 1 quarter.  Fox Valley defense clamped down the rest of the game, while the Force added 2 passing touchdowns in the 3rd to go along with their own field goal in the 2nd.

The Fargo Invaders scored 1 minute 38 seconds into the game and led throughout, knocking off the defending Champion Warriors.  In the 2nd Quarter Fargo was up 26-6, but Minneapolis battled back with a touchdown before half & another to open up the 3rd quarter to pull within 26-21.  The Invaders held the advantage 453 to 219 in Total Offensive.  Click FINAL above for full game details.

River City proved too much for the Med City Freeze in their 11-man debut.  The Rough Riders scored in every quarter, as the defense did not allow a touchdown all game.

Hudson has continued their impressive 2018 turnaround, already getting more wins this season than last year.  The Thunderhawks were balanced with 2 passing, 2 rushing, & 1 defensive touchdown; while completing the Shutout.

Non-League Games

Sioux City hosted former MFA Rival Kansas City in what is now a non-league game.  After getting up 29-12, the Bulldogs battled back to within 1 point before the Stampede were able to close out the game.  Sioux City now leads the series 3-2.

In the Annual "Capital City Classic", St Paul was able to knock off Des Moines to win the Capital Cup.  The Pioneers held a 7-0 halftime lead, and scored again in the 4th to take the 13-6 lead.  Des Moines found the endzone with less than 2 minutes to play, but a failed Extra Point was the determining factor.
