Five undefeated teams took the field yesterday, with four playing each other. Stampede knocked off Fargo, the Force defeated Hudson, and the Pioneers won. The NEFL also picked up another non-league win, this one over the MSFL.
In a battle between #1 vs #2, #1 Sioux City was tested and trailed 9-3 at the half. The Stampede defense bent but didn't break forcing 7 interceptions, including one in the final minute that sealed the game.
The Pioneers and Renegades are familiar foes and two of the longest running teams in Minnesota, but this is the first-time they've squared off as league opponents. St Paul controlled the game end-to-end, showing their depth as the game went on.
Fox Valley won the battle of undefeated teams through a strong defensive outing. In the 2nd quarter defense got on the board first with a Safety; the Force would add a Field Goal & passing TD just before the half to make it 12-0. A 2nd passing TD was added in the 4th to seal the victory.
The Freeze pick up their first 11-man win in franchise history after moving over from the 9-man SPFL after 2 years. They did so in fashion too, as their defense preserved the shutout over the 1st-year Vipers. Med City QB had a field day scoring both through the air and on the ground.
Non-League Game -
Minneapolis hosted the Milwaukee County Chargers of the Mid-States Football League, an Explosive 3rd quarter was more than enough as the Defense held the Chargers to just 6 points. The NEFL now moves to 7-2 against non-league opponents.
