Sioux City never trailed, but never led by more than 8 in the back-and-forth Championship Game.
Stampede started the scoring 6-0, with a quick answer by the Warriors to make it 6-6 by the end of the 1st. Sioux City then went up 13-6 early in the 2nd, again to have Minneapolis answer back to make it 13-12. Later in the 2nd the Stampede would take their biggest lead of the game to get to 20-12, but again the Warriors had an answer just before halftime to tie it 20-20.
The second half would be a defensive battle, going scoreless for 27:53 minutes when TJ James busted loose for the go-ahead score with 2:07 play in the game. Minneapolis would put a drive together, but the Stampede defense would rise to the challenge pushing the Warriors back into 4th & long which would fall harmlessly to the ground.
